The Daily Show Season 31 Episode 87
July 15, 2026 - Molly Shannon
A cyclospora outbreak sweeps the nation and trends on TikTok, Taco Bell prematurely signals responsibility, America's original Iran War budget nearly triples, and Michael Kosta connects endless war funding to the country's outbreak of endless diarrhea. The Supreme Court reaffirmed birthright citizenship in a 6-3 ruling, but John Leguizamo asks: How was this not unanimous? In another In My Opinion, he breaks down the right-wing freakout, from xenophobic fantasies about pregnant foreigners invading the U.S. to familiar election conspiracy theories. Michael also sits down with comedy legend and Emmy-nominated actor Molly Shannon to discuss her new Netflix series, "The Hawk," her bond with Will Ferrell, how a traumatic childhood crash shaped her fearless physical comedy, her odd jobs before Saturday Night Live, and the advice she has for young people.
